Bethnal Green’s Town Hall Hotel is blessed with not one, but two fantastic restaurant, and evidently the competition’s no bad thing

What's the draw
Chef John Christie has an inventive and sensitive way with seasonal British ingredients at the Town Hall hotel's second restaurant.
What to drink
Head to the hotel's Peg + Patriot bar for a pre- or post-prandial cocktail or a local beer (in a can, obviously, this being East London).
What to eat
Our squirrel terrine (yep, you heard us) was delicately spiced and subtle in flavour, while a fillet of red deer – served with slivers of maple-smoked pear and gem lettuce – was so tender you could cut it with a sideways glance.
