The perfect pairing? Last week, Michelin announced its acquisition of online reservation service BookaTable. It's a move that's likely to strengthen the tyre specialists' influence on the culinary world, which is no mean feat as it becomes more challenging to be known for fine dining in a restaurant industry that’s getting more approachable with each new opening.

With more than 15,000 dining venues and 34 million diners using its services in 2015, BookaTable has become a go-to site for people with a passion for food. Throw Michelin's expertise into the mix, and the company is banking on it being a pretty potent combination alongside the Michelin Guide and its other restaurant interests – and it hopes to roll out its offering in several new countries soon, with a particular focus on Scandinavia.

We’re just hoping it helps us finally get that reservation at Fera.
