Happy Hour: Ol' Blue Eyes

There are loads of well-kept secrets in the realm of the celebrity, but, if we're honest, the fact that Frank Sinatra loved bourbon on the rocks probably isn't one of them.

There are loads of well-kept secrets in the realm of the celebrity, but, if we're honest, the fact that Frank Sinatra loved bourbon on the rocks probably isn't one of them. When Frank was in London he used to drink at the Savoy, and his spirit lives on there (quite literally) in the form of a cocktail dedicated to the great man. Whether you're just not a fan of neat spirits or you don't think you got the stones to drink Frank's tipple, Chris Beaufort's Ol' Blue Eyes, made with Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, makes a great, easy-drinking alternative. Or, you know, you could just make it at home (don't tell anyone, but we've got the recipe).

· 40ml Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select

· 10ml Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao

· 10ml Cocchi Americano

· 5ml Benedictine

· 2 dashes orange bitters

Stir and strain over ice in a 1950s whiskey glass, and garnish with a flamed orange peel (vinyl and Jack Daniel’s barrel chip in an envelope optional).
