It's been a very special year for Jack Daniel's – it's the Lynchburg distillery's 150th anniversary this year. To celebrate, it created a single barrel rye, the first new grain bill to come out of the distillery since it opened its doors.
The whiskey itself has a bold and complex flavour profile, with notes of dried fruits, lightly toasted oak, caramel and vanilla. Cue new cocktails, obviously. This one has been created by the Beaufort Bar. Enjoy.
- 40ml Jack Daniel’s Single-Barrel Rye
- 15ml Cocchi Americano
- 15ml Fixed apricot cordial
- 5ml Fino sherry
- 2 dashes of oak-infused Angostura bitters
Shake all with ice and fine strain into a sherry glass; no garnish.
