WHAT'S THE DRAW: The BFI's resident restaurant, where you can dine at the bar, at a table or in one of its in-house, private screening rooms.

WHAT TO DRINK: Delicious house cocktails and an occasionally eccentric spirits list (in a good way).

WHAT TO EAT: A very diverse menu makes it difficult to know where to start. Everything we tried, however, was inventive and delicious, with the beetroot, walnut and labneh (£6.50) a fantastically balanced starter, and the pork belly (£15.50) – always a good yardstick – a sticky, tender treat.
