What's your go-to dinner party trick? Ours is, famously, making an instrument out of whatever we can find on the table in front of us, much to the delight of our guests. So you can imagine our pleasant surprise at the arrival of Riedel's new Horn decanter, which will not only hold, breathe and serve your wine beautifully, but can be genuinely used as a horn.

In all seriousness, glassware connoisseur Riedel knows its stuff when it comes to decanters (for context, this isn't even among its most complicated offerings) and the Horn is a great example. The eyebrow-raising design was inspired by the Austrian Post service in the 18th and 19th centuries, when mail carriers would play the Post Horn to notify the public of their arrival.

History lesson aside, it'll open up the wine exquisitely – especially when paired with Riedel's world-renowned glasses. Glassware this good doesn't come cheap, of course – the Horn will set you back £675 – so best not get carried away during your performance and drop it.

Oh, and if you think we're on the wind-up about the blowing thing, here are some authentically-attired gentlemen playing their hearts out to prove it. So there.
