The World's 50 Best Bars 2016: London's winners

All change, please, all change. That's right – we knew to expect a shake-up at the announcement of 2016's World's 50 Best Bars last night, as the departure of Alex Kratena and his team from Artesian last November saw the four-time number one fall out of the top 50.

That left space for a new winner, and up stepped The Dead Rabbit, the Manhattan bar founded by Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, to take the top spot, having eyed it from second place in 2014 and 2015.

But there were wins for London all over the list, with enough representation to give it the title of the best city in the world for bars again, with nine in the top 50 and a pretty amazing five in the top ten alone. There were new entrants to the list in the form of Callooh Callay, in at 48; Oriole, which joined sister bar Nightjar in the top 50 for the first time; and The Gibson, which clocked in at an impressive number 6. Perhaps most impressive is the rise of Ryan Chetiyawardana's Dandelyan, which was up 47 (yep, forty-seven) places to claim number 3 on the list.

30. Bar Termini
