Hot diggity dog! Linda McCartney's and Big Easy have set out to shake up vegan dining via the creation of a brand-new Linda McCartney's X Big Easy Texan Vegan Corn 'Not Dog'. If that sounds a bit like a Frankenstein's monster of delicious vegan goodness, that's because it is.

Available for a limited-time only, and perfect for getting stuck into this National Hot Dog Day on 17 July, this meat-free dish is also pretty big news considering that it's the Big Easy's first ever vegan dish. Like, ever. Created by the Big Easy all-out American dining experts as a response to a challenge from Linda McCartney's, the 'Not Dog' provides all the satisfaction of a regular hot dog without any meat.

Made using Linda McCartney's Vegetarian Sausages, the 'Not Dog' is inspired by the classic Corn Dog served at Texas State Fairs of the 1940s. Here's how it works: take some seriously succulent Vegetarian Sausages, dip them in corn batter, deep fry them to a golden brown, fully load them with smoky BBQ sauce, tangy chilli jam and top 'em with crispy onions in a soft bun. It's 100% vegan and 100% delicious. Even your most carnivorous mates will find it difficult to turn down a chomp on one of these bad boys.

Linda McCartney paved the way almost 30 years ago for today's vegetarian movement. As one of the original meat-free pioneers, McCartney inspired a generation and her legacy continues to reach far and wide in today's society where vegetarian and vegan eating has fast become a norm.

Available at all Big Easy restaurants in Chelsea, Covent Garden and Canary Wharf through to 21 July, the dish costs £8 and £1 of every dish will go to the Trussell Trust food bank charity.
